Strainer Nipple Data Tool
The Strainer Nipple Data Tool (SNDT) is a new design of downhole memory gauge that attaches to the bottom of an oil well pump, or is landed in a cased hole on a collar stop or other accessory. It records up to three years of highly accurate pressure and temperature data, with enough detail to show the shape of the individual pump strokes. Unlike traditional gauge surveys or surface pressure surveys, the SNDT is so reliable and easy to run, it can be operated by the oil company.
While the SNDT is down hole and recording continuously, a variety of pressure transient testing can be initiated by simply shutting in the well or offsetting wells.
